Apophyllite is commonly found as a secondary mineral in vesicles of basalt and other volcanic rocks. Indian apophyllite is famous for its terminus and cubic shape, but it is quite widespread all over the world. Available in green, red, white, grey-green, brown, pink, purple and orange. With its wide range of colors and relatively affordable price, Apophyllite is a collector's must-have and often the first in a collection. Its name comes from the Greek and means "to fall apart like a leaf", referring to the effect it has when dried.
